This is new, PinoyCosplay with an upgrade. By the way, what is the Register and Login button for this site for?
Anyhow, on topic. Media and politicians blame TV shows, video games, websites and such. But the problem with them is that they do not teach kids what’s right and wrong and the consequences of things. Also, kids nowadays are all lacking a figure to look up to. And so they look up to gangsters, their fellow DotA-boy who keeps winning matches, Alodia and many more who stand out. Basically, their parents are bad role models the gov’t are pathetic role models and celebrities… People look up to them and copy them and their slut-like lifestyle.
@SinRealm:
I agree , most kids these days have a very skewed sense of morals and blaming it all on video games and such is one of the most cliche things in life. Good role models do exist, sadly they are too far and few in between, they comprise a minority if you will. The media would rather hype someone who can bring in ads and ratings , than someone who can really bring change and or at least is doing something really worthwhile. They think that by copying their so called role models they can be cool and be brought out of poverty or some such. Mediocre role models means mediocre citizens. And as the saying goes ‘Mediocrity breeds mediocrity’
wow. i say, very good job at the layout (although i am having a hard time navigating at first) i thought, “did i enter the wrong url?” i even checked twice. goojab.
about the video, oo talagang nakaka influence ang media, pero kung talagang pursigido ka namang huwag maging malandi, magagawa mo naman yun, lalo na’t kung maganda pagpapalaki sayo ng magulang mo o kung ano man (para sakin lang naman).
I think I’ll have some time to get used to the upgrade… but still kudos to you GT…
@topic: Don’t blame the internet because… THE INTERNET IS FOR PORN! j/k
OK seriously, this vid serves as a direct hit to our “youngest professional cosplayer”.
I agree to what SinRealm said, kids today have the scarcity(?) of good role models. This is what happens when kids grow up undisciplined.
Sadly , even good wombs have borne bad sons and daughters as they say, Ive seen people brought up from good families turn slutty to the core. Still I agree that you CAN always CHOOSE to fight the media’s influence if you really try, some people just get swept away so easily.
Chienna,I hope you are watching this.
May your virginity rest in peace.
Or no, maybe it’ll haunt you. Soon.
As for what the video is all about, the media isn’t the problem. We run the media, problem is, we let the media run us. It’s up to people how they would utilize the media, really. People themselves are the ones to be blamed since marketing the flesh all goes down to the demand of the consumers – the perverted ones, like GT. Sadly, the youth, who has no access to education or to something that can mold their morals, become the victims. For the the well-off young people however, they may have access to education but they CAN NEVER BUY MORALS. Here’s an advice, go buy yourselves good parents who can teach you MORALS. Goodluck.
But Chienna, earn more money from cosplay then buy yourself (no. not good parents but..) a brain. Take care.
>they may have access to education but they CAN NEVER BUY MORALS
>go buy yourselves good parents who can teach you MORALS
>implying well off-teens don’t have parents who have also taught them good morals.
Oh wow, the old rich vs poor scenario. The rich have their money but the poor can have their piety and their church, who is just as well off like the rich. Face it, scrub. Some well off people had to fight for what they had so they know more about the world than juan tamad who thinks the world is shit so they will not act accordingly.

Whoa, kudos GT
nice layout y’got here.
I like it, it’s so shinee as a halogen light.
Anyways, blame the media (especially here in the PH, where mocking a gogo dancing child is a national pastime) for all the crap that’s happening in our society.
Also blame the media for elitism: they caused the very rift we have in the cosplay circles: those who are skilled and unappreciated, and those who are appreciated yet they lack the talents to make the community better.
I’ve been checking the old site every hour last night. It was so weird that no one was posting or replying LOL. I love the new site GT. Feels good to be home!
@Concerned Media Student, part time Chienna hater: maybe she sold her brain prior to become the “youngest professional cosplayer” so it will be unlikely for her to buy a new one.
off topic: I still miss DJ al… someone said last night she was sick… so no Ha Ha Ha’s again…
I blame the people who think the only outlet to be recognized for cosplay is through mainstream media. I mean have you no creativity? What is the worth of your computer literate degree if you can’t even make your own media on the web centered around your hobby and instead on ‘modeling’ photographs instead? They treat it an attitude of mediocrity: Do what you can to fit in, not understanding the hobby in itself.
There sure aren’t enough role models to look up to because these young kids are missing the point. Where Manny got to where he is through hard work and luck, everyone thinks its a Pinoy thing because we have some natural affinity to boxing.
Cosplay in the Philippines? I dare you to look for a better place to read about Philippine cosplay. Seriously. Go ahead and try. Don't say I didn't warn you. I'm sure you'll come back here to find the best articles about cosplay Philippines. You don't believe me? Try your luck.
